The local currency is the Euro (€). Foreign currency is not accepted at most stores in Spain. Major credit cards are accepted in most hotels, restaurants, and shops, but small restaurants and shops may not accept credit cards. Major currencies, such as US dollar, can be exchanged at international airports and major banks.
Participants requiring a visa for entry to Spain are strongly advised to make their application in their home country at least three months before the intended date of travel. For information, please consult your nearest Spain Embassy or Consulate or your travel agent. Whether you need a visa depends on your nationality and duration of stay in Spain, and possibly on the reason for your visit to Spain.
